How We Calculate This
How the Calculation Works
Each oil contributes different properties to soap based on its fatty acid profile. This calculator uses known soap quality indices for each oil and calculates a weighted average based on your recipe percentages.
Oil weights in grams = total oil weight x percentage. NaOH is calculated using the SAP value of each oil multiplied by its weight, then summed (before superfat adjustment).
