What temperature should I set my heat press to?

Standard HTV on cotton needs about 160°C (320°F) for 15 seconds. Polyester needs lower temperature (140°C). Glitter and flock HTV typically need the same temperature but longer time and always cold peel.

What does hot peel vs cold peel mean?

Hot peel means removing the carrier sheet immediately while still warm. Cold peel means waiting until the vinyl and fabric are completely cool before peeling. Glitter and flock always need cold peel.

Can I use an iron instead of a heat press?

Yes, a household iron works for small projects. Set to the fabric-appropriate heat setting, use firm even pressure for 30-45 seconds (longer than a heat press). However, results are less consistent than a heat press.

Why is my HTV peeling off after washing?

Common causes: insufficient pressing time, wrong temperature, not enough pressure, or washing too soon (wait 24 hours). Always wash inside-out on cool settings. Avoid tumble drying for the first few washes.
